Course Prerequisites
- Having a valid Silver Lifeguard Certification
- Documenting 6 months of active lifeguard experience in a facility
- TSSF/CMAS 3 Star Diver certification
- 19 years old
Course Content and Duration
Gold Lifeguard course is completed in 4 days. The course days are determined according to our instructor and candidates' availabilities. However, there is an obligation to take Course Permission from the Federation 15 days prior to the course’s first day, so the candidates should notify us and register for the course as early as possible. Two days of the course are conducted in the classroom. And the remaining two days are required to complete open water training in a lake or the sea. So, it may take 19 days to earn the certification, so it is crucial to enroll in the course as early as possible.
Since the water temperatures are low in lakes near Ankara, we prefer to complete open water training in the sea. You can join us on one of our trips to the sea which are organized all year round. The trips are organized by A-Level Travel Agency and bus trips, accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and logistics for open water training are all included. The expenses for the trip are paid separately and the price is “Boat Guest” price in our 2-day weekend trip packages.
Gold Lifeguard Duties and Certification Validity
At the end of the course, candidates who are successful earn the authorization to work as a lifeguard at rivers, lakes or the sea and you can assist lifeguard courses at an authorized lifeguard training center. The certification received at the end of the course is valid for 2 years. (This is a general rule for all Lifeguard certifications.) At the end of these 2 years, if you are medically fit, you can renew your certification with a lifeguard and first aid refresher course.
IMPORTANT:
With an amendment to the Federation’s rules, there has been a change in the renewal procedures. The renewals can only be possible for 6 months period after the expiry date of the card. For example, if the expiry date on your card reads 21.02.2017, the card can be renewed until 21.08.2017. If the lifeguard doesn’t renew his/her card until this date, s/he should take the course again. So if you want to renew your card with a short refresher course, we recommend you take this rule into consideration.
Course Price
The Gold Lifeguard course price is - TL, and the Gold Lifeguard certification fee is - TL. These prices include the course, training materials, certification fee, and the total of - TL is paid during the course registration.
